Harsil Kyarkoti Trek

This trek visits Alpine forests of bhojpatra, (the famous "paper tree"), juniper, and the stately deodar. The famous Kyarkoti bugyals (Alpine meadows) Spectacular views of the famous snow capped high Himalayas Srikanth and some unnamed mountains, Kyarkotital mountain lake. Hardy bakriwale (mountain headers) with their flocks of sheep and goats, frequent sightings of families of lithe and lively langoor (like a black-faced monkey) swinging through the tree canopy high above, Chances to see ibex, snow fox, mountain crow, and eagles.

Day 1 : New Delhi - Rishikesh (225 kms/6 hrs)
harsil-kyarkoti-trek In the morning drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival at Rishikesh transfer to the hotel. In the evening visit the Aarti ceremony at Swargashram. Back to hotel for overnight stay.

Rishikesh : Rishikesh is the gateway to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal. It's also starting point on the journey to the sacred sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna Rivers. According to legend, Prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to Sage Kapila's curse. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived the sons of King Sagara. In the tradition of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for the salvation of their ancestors.

Day 2 : Rishikesh - Uttarkashi (185 kms/6 hrs)
Drive to Uttarkashi, located on the Bhagirathi River in the foothills of the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Uttarkahi transfer check into the hotel.

Vishwanath Temple : One of the major Shiva worship centers for all India, this ancient and renowned temple is an interesting and important pilgrimage and touristic monument.
Uttarkashi Town : Situated on a new lake, this clean and nature-surrounded little city features a line of ashrams along the banks of the Bhagirathi River, an early branch of the sacred Ganga. harsil-kyarkoti-trekking-photos

Day 3 : Uttarkashi - Harsil ( 75 kms/4 hrs)
4 hours by vehicle from Uttarkashi, market center north central Garhwal, set in a valley surrounded by foothills and terraced valleys, Scenic drive along the roaring Bhagirati River, one of the source rivers of the sacred Ganges, through terraced fields, deodar forests, apple orchards, and villages to small beautiful town Harsil stay at camp or hotel.

Day 4 : Harsil - Laldevta Camp {5 kms}
Uphill trek along the Jalindri River through the Deovdaar forest and spectacular views of down Harsil valley and treks arrives to Laldevta temple. 3 kms gentle walk for campsite which is beautiful camp site big alpine meadows ground along the Jalindri River and spectacular views of high Himalayas –Srikanth and some unnamed mountains.

Day 5 : Laldevta Camp - Bhojkharak(8 kms)

The seasonally contact with Sheppard and their folks and finely trek arrives Bhojkharak beautifull camp site with spectacular views of Srikanth peak which looks beautiful in the morning with sunlight.

Day 6 : Bhojkharak - Kyarkoti (7kms/6hrs)
Moderate uphill trek along the river and bugiyal (Alpine meadows) and tree line start getting ends and valley gets moe open and spectacular view of some high snow caped unnamed mountains than we crass river in Dosamdu camp and arrives to Kyarkoti camp. It is beautiful alpine meadows with spectacular views of the Himalayas range and down in the valley below.

Day 7 : Kyarkoti - Day trek to Kanatal( 4kms)
Moderate uphill trek along the river through the bugiyal and moraine with beautiful surrounding and many small stream and falls. Also possibility to see some wild life like Himalayan belcher, Pheasant ( Monal) blue sheep and snow fox etc. Visit this beautiful mountain lake and back to camp site.

Day 8 : Kyarkoti - Gangnani (9kms)

Day 9 : Gangnani - Harsil (7kms/5hrs)
Easy downhill trek to Harsil camp is nearby river and can visit Bagori tribal village for their culture and also famous for their woolen cloths it is just 500 m. distance from camp site.

Day 10 : Harsil - Gangotri-Uttarkashi
There are option to go Uttarkashi via Gangotri or can directly go to Uttarkashi check in the hotel.

Day 11 : Uttarkashi - Rishikesh-Hardwar (185 kms/6 hrs)
It is about 200 kms to Rishikesh also can be cautiously to Haridwar check in to the hotel.

Day 12 : Rishikesh - Delhi (225 kms/6 hrs)
By bus, Flight or train to new Delhi.

Best time to visit Harsil Kyarkoti Trek : May, June, August, September and October.
